(This image courtesy of Nile Root )March 2009 marked 6 years since Eli and I uprooted ourselves from our comfortable cozy nest in Humboldt County where we lived for 30 years, raised a family and co-developed the most wonderful tribe of lifelong friends. It was a wrenching move for me and I left only because I felt called to the Southwest, not because anything was lacking where I was. In retrospect I refer to the move, which coincided with a very intense menopause initiation, as an "identity shredding" experience. Not pleasant at the time, but very worthwhile.
It is synchronistic that we (my good friend Ute and I) just completed a ceremonial circle on our property in time for a community Equinox Ceremony, which marks the first time in 6 years that we have hosted a ceremony on our property. I am looking forward to celebrating with a new tribe.
My parents are celebrated their 60th anniversary on March 19th. Quite an admirable feat.
